100 Mile Club
Free, simple, and fun, The 100 Mile Club is the inspiration behind the New Balance Foundation Billion Mile Race. Founded in 1992 in a single classroom by 4th generation public school teacher Kara Lubin, the 100 Mile Club’s intrinsic appeal and simple design has led to its adoption by nearly 3,000 schools in all 50 states and several countries. The goal? Run or walk 100 miles at school during a single school year. It’s that simple.
The 100 Mile Club is easy to start, flexible and delivers high-quality physical activity in a fun and challenging way. Coaches receive year-round, individualized personal support from our dedicated national office, including a comprehensive Program Guide, interactive webinars, and much more. The program can be implemented anytime throughout the school day, during PE, lunch, recess, and before and after school hours by students of all ages and ability levels. Along their journey to 100 miles, schools can expect their students to learn lessons in commitment, team spirit, perseverance, hard work, integrity, and friendship.
Whether you choose the no cost program option or integrate the award winning incentive-based Gold Medal Program, all students learn valuable life skills along their journey to 100 miles and beyond.Visit 100 Mile Club
